Q1: Can the controller operate as a standalone unit?
A1: Yes. The 07KT98 can operate as a standalone unit, a bus master, or a remote slave within the Advant Controller 31 system.

Q2: What programming software is supported?
A2: It is programmed using ABB 907 AC 1131 software. ARCNET versions require V4.1 or later; PROFIBUS-DP versions require V4.2.1 or later.

Q3: Is it safe to hot-swap the SmartMedia card?
A3: No. SmartMedia cards should be inserted or removed only when the unit is powered off to prevent data loss or corruption.

Q4: Are the digital outputs protected against overload?
A4: Yes. All digital outputs are protected against short circuit and overload. Overload is indicated by the red OVL LED.

Q5: Are Pt100 temperature sensors supported on analog inputs?
A5: Yes. Pt100 sensors are supported in both 2-wire and 3-wire configurations with ranges -50°C to +400°C and -50°C to +70°C.

Q6: What communication interfaces are available?
A6: The unit includes two RS-232 serial interfaces (COM1 and COM2), a CS31 system bus, and depending on the variant, ARCNET, PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen, or Ethernet.

Q7: Does the power supply include reverse polarity protection?
A7: Yes. The 24 V DC power input is protected against reverse polarity.

Q8: Can the input signal delay be adjusted?
A8: Yes. The digital and configurable I/O inputs have a default delay of 7 ms, which can be configured to 1 ms.
